The origin of H Upmann Cigars dates back to 1843 when German banker Hermann Dietrich Upmann ventured into the cigar industry in Havana, Cuba. Upmann’s foresight in recognising the potential of Cuban tobacco led him to establish a banking business catering to tobacco dealers and manufacturers, followed by the acquisition of a local cigar factory. This marked the inception of the H Upmann brand, celebrated for its quality and unique taste. Under the stewardship of Hermann’s nephew, Heinrich, the brand continued to flourish, introducing innovative blends, sizes, and packaging.
