Trinidad Topes Cigars

The Trinidad Topes Cigars, measuring an impressive 4 7/8” x 56 ring gauge, are a testament to quality and tradition. First introduced as a Trinidad Topes Cigars Limited Edition in 2016, these cigars quickly became a sought-after item, disappearing from shelves due to their immense popularity. Consequently, their return has sparked great excitement among aficionados. This time, the Topes join Trinidad’s standard range, marking a significant moment in the brand’s history.

Named after the stunning 16th Century city of La Santisima Trinidad on Cuba’s south coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Trinidad cigars embody a rich heritage. The brand, established in 1969, initially mirrored Cohiba’s exclusive distribution, reserved only for gifts to foreign diplomats. It wasn’t until 1998 that Trinidad became available for general sale, and even then, in limited quantities.

Initially, Trinidad offered just one size – the Fundadores. However, in 2003, the brand expanded its range to include three additional sizes: the Reyes, the Coloniales, and the Robusto Extra. This expansion coincided with an update to Trinidad’s livery and cigar band, reflecting the brand’s esteemed status. More recently, in 2009, the Trinidad Robusto T was introduced, further enhancing the brand’s impressive portfolio.

Trinidad’s production took place at El Laguito, the renowned Cohiba factory, for several years. There, the brand’s unique blend of fragrant and aromatic, medium-flavoured filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone was meticulously developed. These cigars, renowned for their quality and flavor, are a testament to the art of cigar making and the rich cultural heritage of Trinidad.
