In a remarkable turn of events, all 12 pieces were successfully sold, generating an impressive total of $6.6 million USD.
Stealing the spotlight at the auction was the prestigious Patek Philippe Reference 96 Quantieme Lune, which achieved a staggering sale price of $6.2 million USD. After a thrilling bidding war lasting six minutes, a local collector emerged as the proud new owner of this remarkable timepiece. This sale not only set a new record for any Ref. 96 Quantieme Lune ever sold, but also claimed the title for the highest price ever paid for a wristwatch previously owned by an Emperor. Additionally, it marked the most valuable lot ever realized by Phillips Watches in Asia.
Thomas Perazzi, the Head of Watches for Phillips’ Asia region, expressed his pride in the overwhelming response from collectors worldwide. As the watch and accompanying artifacts embarked on a global tour, they captivated the interest of collectors hailing from 56 different countries, aged between 25 and 60. Notably, the auction witnessed a diverse range of collectors, including those passionate about Chinese paintings, ceramics, and antiques, who enthusiastically participated in today’s sale.
