Maurice de Mauriac has just revealed its newest watch collection at the Man’s World 2023 expo in Switzerland. The Chrono Modern North Cape Edition is a timepiece that embodies a classic design that has stood the test of time, having survived extreme adventures during the brand’s collaborations in the past decade.
The watch’s name is inspired by the 11-day North Cape expedition that the Alpineracer team embarked on with a BMW E30 and a Genesis GV70 support vehicle. The timepiece comes in a 42mm brushed stainless steel case, featuring a unique pattern on its patented screwed bezel. The watch’s rugged look is enhanced with a coarse and corrugated ring that adds extra toughness to its overall appearance.
The deep blue dial is accented with hand-filled Super-LumiNova, three subdials, and a bright orange chrono second hand, giving it a bold and striking aesthetic. The Swiss Valjoux ETA 7750 movement powers the time-telling functions, day and date indications, and the chronograph. A personalized Alpineracer oscillating weight adds a special touch to the watch, honoring the expedition it is named after.
The Chrono Modern North Cape Edition comes with a white rubber strap and a textile option in blue, adding versatility to the timepiece’s overall style. The watch will be available for purchase soon via Maurice de Mauriac’s website and its Zurich atelier for CHF 4,400 (approximately $4,928 USD). Stay updated on the brand’s website and Instagram for launch updates.
In summary, the Chrono Modern North Cape Edition is a timepiece that merges classic design with rugged toughness, inspired by an expedition that embodies the spirit of adventure. The watch’s durable construction and striking aesthetic make it a standout addition to any watch collection.
